The position of the Mazda Mazda6 in the midsize vehicle classification in 2024 is what determines its overall rating. After we looked at 56 pieces of research and material, we gave the Mazda Mazda6 an 8.6 out of 10.
2024 Mazda 6 Redesign
The Mazda6 is a superb midsize vehicle, without a doubt. Two 4-cylinder engines are available, delivering outstanding performance and a quick steering wheel. In addition, it has a luxurious interior, several safety, and entertainment features, as well as updated Android Auto and Apple CarPlay capabilities. Its infotainment system and limited rear legroom are the Mazda’s most significant flaws. When it comes to new possibilities, even the 2024 Mazda 6 is skeptical. This midsize sedan has charted its course for the past few years, and this year it can do so with the ferocity that befits its form.
A new turbo-4 engine option has been added to the 6’s exquisite styling. This is the most OK under-the-radar car, and someone should find it. Starting in 2024, the Mazda 6 Sport and Visiting grade levels will be offered with the same engine that now powers the Mazda 3’s 2.5-liter inline-4. You can’t put a “Whiskey Tag” on your automobile since it has a turbocharged 250 horsepower engine (on premium energy; 227 hp with standard).
14.7 cubic feet of trunk space is more than enough for a couple of dozen grocery bags. To make matters more complex, the rear chair retractor release levers must be accessed only through the trunk area since it is so small. 60/40-break up-collapsible back chairs will be common in the plus segment. The 2024 Mazda 6 has a maximum capacity of five passengers. There are curved front seats in this car, and it has an air of refinement and warmth about it. There are a few people who believe that a little more legroom in the backseat would make the car even better.
Two sets of LATCH connectors are included in the back outboard seats, while a tether anchor is included in the back middle seating. You may also use the anchors from your nearby seats to secure the center seat. An “excellent” grade from the Insurance Coverage Institution for Road Safety indicates that this strategy is straightforward and scalable. The cabin of this Mazda is among the best in its class. Components of the car are compared to those found in high-end vehicles. Seats that are both heated and ventilated in the back should be on the list of desired features for comfort and ease.
The Mazda6 has a 2.5-liter, 4-cylinder engine that produces 187 horsepower. Upgrades to Grand Touring and higher trim levels will include the optional use of the higher-horsepower turbocharged 4-tube engine with 227 or 250 hp (depending on fuel quality). Each of the engines is mated to a quick-shifting 6-speed automatic transmission. The regular engine, while powerful, falls short of the enhanced engine’s power.
A midsize car’s base efficiency ratings are generally 26 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway. The EPA estimates that the new engine will get 23 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the interstate. Fast steering and fitness management in the Mazda6 provide an exciting driving experience without sacrificing comfort on long trips. Expect some movement in the front tires. All-wheel drive is not possible at this time.
